Dealing with outlier temps (and other fun things)
Aug 04, 2026
Hey fam!! It's melly with another newsletter comin' at ya.
FAV CLEAN PRODUCT THIS WEEK:
- Hu Chocolate:
- The way that I crave thisssssss. Yummy ingredients like organic grass-fed milk and organic cacao. Their plain milk chocolate is my favorite.
- Supplement brand I'm lovin' and usin' - Pure Encapsulations
- I love getting my Magnesium Glycinate from here!
- Hot tip: I've recently stopped buying supplements off of Amazon, because I've heard that inventory is not always regulated, so I've been purchasing off of Fullscript instead.
WHAT WE'RE UP TO THIS WEEK:
- Upcoming mini event: I'm so excited! I'm going to be doing a mother/daughter event with young girls (like 10+ years) to share a very basic intro to what a period is, what a healthy cycle looks like, what cervical fluid is and how it is a totally normal and wonderful thing, and more!! The goal is to share the info that we all wish we knew when we were younger. If you know any young girls who would be interested, email me back and I'll send you the deets :)
- Partnering with Pelvic Floor Therapist: I had a phone call with a wonderful pelvic floor therapist who has created a great network of women who are primarily postpartum. We're going to partner in a couple ways together! For those who are unsure about a natural route, it feels like postpartum is such a natural pausing moment to reconsider your methods, because you've obviously been off of one for some time.
WHAT WE'RE CHATTIN' ABOUT IN OUR GROUPCHAT:
- If pregnancy isn't coming as easy as you'd hope:
- I have been in conversations with friends, former students, and even influencers online, who have all had wonderful experiences with this practice: Veritas Fertility. They are rooted in the NaPro model and are care providers who work to get to the root cause of issues. They offer telehealth visits and work with women who have issues ranging from heavy and painful periods to hormonal abnormalities to recurrent miscarriage and more.
- Example of dealing with an outlier:
- Here's an example from our on-demand course. As you can see, this woman had a super high temp right in the middle of her cycle. On that day, she could have thought 'oh! I must have ovulated!'. But, when the next day comes around and the temp drops again, she's left wondering what the heck is going on. Turns out: she had been drinking that night (more than she usually does!). So, this is a great reminder to mark the outlier as "questionable" so that it's ignored in the chart. And then, when drawing the coverline, count back 6 ignoring the questionable temp. See below for the example. :)
