Hot take: your perid app doesn't actually know when you ovulated
Happy Tuesday, ladies! Here’s the weekly tea.
Michelle here with a little spicy email and hot take... We want you all to know that your period tracking app doesn't actually know when you ovulated or when you will get your period. Oops! I said it!
The issue with period tracking-apps is that they use previous cycle date and possibly other algorithms to ESTIMATE your fertile window and period arrival.
Unless you're tracking specific fertility signs, like your basal body temperature AND cervical fluid, the prediction isn't the same as tracking your cycle on your own.
We want you to know that your body is giving you information in real time, and things can vary month to month. So why are we relying on an algorithm to guess what your body is doing?
Now, we are not totally against these apps or tools that can help make fertility awareness a little simpler. We just think you know your body better than an app or algorithm. If you fully understand what is going on day to day, you can eliminate fear and anxiety around TTA or TTC by being in the driver's seat of your cycle tracking.
We wrote a blog about using Natural Cycles / Oura Ring a few months ago and it still applies today. If you're using these tools, we highly recommend you checkout the blog here to use them in conjunction with the information we teach in our course.
FAV CLEAN PRODUCT THIS WEEK:
- These cleaning wipes are AMAZING! There's no harsh chemicals and these wipes are vinegar based to clean surfaces. They are even OK to use on food surfaces
- I keep them stocked in every bathroom for a quick counter wipe down.
