My peeps!!! (It's Mel!)
Hereās the weekly tea hehehe
FAV CLEAN PRODUCT THIS WEEK: I can't think of anything I enjoy more than strolling through Costco and Whole Foods aisles finding new snacks. My love runs deep. I have issues. Heres some snacks and food products I've been loving lately and are worth checking out:
-
@ Costco - The Only Bean Edamame w/Avo Oil: Add to your fav salad as a super easy way to get more high protein! 1/3 cup is 14g of protein. That's cray.
-
@ Costco - Wild Caught Canned Salmon: This has become a weekly staple in our house. Add some raisins (just trust), chopped bell peppers, pistachios, mayonnaise (Primal Kitchen, obvi), and soy sauce. Toss it allll up, grab some seaweed paper, and pick up the salmon salad with it. YuMM I'm drooling.
-
Be Well By Kelly: Michelle has hooked me on this protein powder. I've had a hard time finding a protein powder that does extensive testing and is sweetened with monk fruit!
-
Hot tip: Wait for a sale orrrr buy 3 & it gives you a discount per bag!
-
WHAT WE'RE UP TO THIS WEEK:
- I got the Inito!! I'll be testing this out so that we have a rec when you peeps are postpartum and need an option before your cycle returns. (Once your cycle returns - you can resort back to Tempdrop like we teach, if that's what you've been using!)
- Eager to see how it works! Will keep you updated what I like / don't like.
- Speaking to young adults ages 18-40 tonight on all things fertility awareness, yeeeeehaw
WHAT WE'RE CHATTIN' ABOUT IN OUR GROUPCHAT:
- A read on PCOS and gut health:
- Two things I loved from this article:
- "Too often, PCOS symptoms are addressed with band-aid measures like hormonal birth contraceptives that don't actually address the underlying issues (and which further contribute to poor gut health [3]!), and women who face infertility and pregnancy complications feel alone or -even worse - that they are to blame."
- "Treating gut dysbiosis has already been shown to mitigate PCOS symptoms"
- If you're charting, PCOS can show up as irregular periods; not ovulating every cycle (anovulation); long cycles. It can also physically have symptoms like acne and unwanted facial/body hair or thinning of hair
- Two things I loved from this article:
- Quiz time! Here's the answer!
- One of our past students guessed the right answer! It is an anovulatory chart. Just looking at BBT, you can see here that there is no sustained temp rise. In case you aren't sure what that is...here's a definition! "Anovulation is a medical condition in which a woman's ovaries do not release an oocyte (egg) during her menstrual cycle, resulting in the absence of ovulation. This can lead to irregular or absent menstrual periods and may contribute to infertility (Yale Medicine, 2025).
