Some good news for fertility awareness
Aug 11, 2026
Hey girls! Happy Tuesday! Michelle here...
FAV CLEAN PRODUCT THIS WEEK:
- Dr Bronner's Castille Soap:
- Not the most exciting category of clean products but man is it versitile. I use this to make non-toxic hand soap and non-toxic cleaning spray.
- Here is the simple recipe I follow for a cleaning spray:
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons liquid castile soap (unscented)
- 10 drops essential oil of choice (lemon is my perosnal fave!!)
WHAT WE'RE UP TO THIS WEEK:
- I'm back in Colorado after a long week away! We brought our sweet two month old back to Chicago to visit with family and friends and to celebrate one of my besties weddings!
- Now that I'm back, I will be working with my doula (shout out Calm Birth Collective) to see how we can collaborate this fall! We are hoping to do a joint event in the Denver area. If you're local and want to join, LMK and I'll keep you in the loop!
WHAT WE'RE CHATTIN' ABOUT IN OUR GROUPCHAT:
- The FDA just provided Natural Cycles with it's 6th FDA clearance:
- Late July, Natural Cycles received an additional FDA clearance. This time they cleared their AI-driven fertility algorithm which is supposed to provide users with more individualized fertility predictions.
- The good news
- Fertility awareness methods and options are getting more positive PR! We love to see larger groups continuing to recognize the value of Fertility Awareness in any form!
- The bad news
- Any algorithm or prediction based model of fertility awareness has potential room for errors. This is because the technology uses data from previous cycles to help predict what is happening in your current cycle. Natural Cycles uses previous data to predict red (potentially fertile) and green (not fertile) days for users to use this information for birth control.
- As our previous TNB students know, we use cervical fluid information to help us understand our daily fertility each and every day! We encourage our students to use tools like the Oura Ring or Natural Cycles in combination with the information we teach in our course so you know how to interpret the data on. your own and you aren't blindly relying on an algorithm for birth control.
Here's an article if you want to read more about the Natural Cycle's FDA clearance.
TLDR: We LOVE positive fertility awareness updates in the news like Natural Cycles recieving their 6th FDA clearance BUT we encourage everyone to understand how fertility awareness methods work so you can understand and interpret the information on your own.
Have a great rest of your week!!
xoxo,
Michelle
