Reuniting and it feels so good!
Jul 21, 2026
Hey my ladies!! Here's the weekly tea:
FAV CLEAN PRODUCT THIS WEEK:
-
Jaspr Air Purifier: They're doing a sale with the code CLEANAIR. I'm not sure how long it goes for, I think just another day or so.
-
Mason Jars Lid: This is the most random fav product but... Some families are the kind where they put all their packaged goodies right in the pantry in their OG boxes. Other families dump them out and put them in glass jars. That is me lol. I love putting everything in mason jars. BUT ALSO! They are a must-have item if you have kiddos. Perfect for breast milk storage and then eventually for food purees. These lids are cleaner and easier to use. 10/10.
WHAT WE'RE UP TO THIS WEEK:
You guys!!! We're taking our convos out of the group chat! Your fav duo is being reunited this week and I.can't. wait. Baby squeezes are coming. We'll post some pics on our insta stories so stay tuned :)
WHAT WE'RE CHATTIN' ABOUT IN OUR GROUPCHAT:

-
The Reddit thread:
-
When I first read this, I wanted to squeeze and hug this 19-year old girl. First of all, major props to her for putting so much thought into what option she'd choose. I feel like for so many women, it was a quick decision based on a 15-minute appointment because we didn't know much and weren't given much time to ask questions! (it's not our fault!). Ugh.
-
I wish that more teenagers knew that your body is giving you physical signs that help you determine if you're fertile or not. For so many of our students, they were put on hormonal BC as a teen.
-
I have no point in sharing this other than that I've decided I'm going to magically appear at every high school and let them ask every weird AF question and teach everyone about natural BC. The end.

A pregnancy chart! We often share cyclical charts, but I wanted to take a second to share what a pregnancy chart can look like. Estimated ovulation day is the low before the high temp, right? In conjunction with peak day. So, looks like CD 15 was the estimated ovulation day. If a woman is pregnant, the corpus luteum keeps pumping out progesterone (which keeps your BBT high) so that your temps stay elevated and your period never comes. Around weeks 8-12 of pregnancy, the placenta takes over the progesterone production. So, if you see sustained high temps past your usual luteal phase length...that's a good sign to take a pregnancy test :)

"Study shows how birth control pills affect women's psychological and biological responses to stress": This is a UCLA-led study published in 2023. Included a few tid bits I thought was interesting below!
-
"Although hormonal contraceptives are safely used by more than 300 million women worldwide (as of a 2019 study by the United Nations), there has been minimal research on their downstream physiological and behavioral effects." sooo, which one is it? is it safely used orrrrr is our body interconnected and downstream impacts haven't been studied?
-
"Researchers found that women who use contraceptives had higher levels of an inflammatory cytokine called TNF-alpha both before and after the stress test. Mengelkoch said this cytokine may be associated with a more "male-typical" response to stress. In comparison, naturally cycling women had a more "female-typical" response to stress, with higher levels of the sytokine known as interleuken-6 rising alongside increases in cortisol"
-
"Cortisol gets a bad rap, but increases in cortisol in response to stress help the body manage stressful situations," Mengelkoch said. "If women on the pill are having these increases in cortisol but their mood is getting worse, it could mean that the pill is preventing their bodies and minds from returning to normal following stress"
